What NOT to do when location scouting!!
Today my sister and I went location scouting. Two exciting things happened.
1. We got permission to film in a Donut store! YAY!
2. We learned a lesson when trying to find a location for our first scene, which occurs outdoors in a field. We decided to look around at the fields surrounding the creek, at the bottom of our street. We found a 6ft ditch in our path, with some tall grass in it. I had forgotten to wear boots, so I decided I better jump this 'ditch'.
I missed, my foot landed about 3/4 the way across the ditch in PURE MUCK, and I found out very fast that this was no mere 'ditch'. This was the creek!
Wow.
Messy Mistake.
Good thing I asked Mary to hold the camera while I jumped!
Here's a picture I took before I rolled up my muddy jeans and took off my shoe.
I really could have been a lot worse off! Thankfully I didn't lose my balance and go face first into the creek. :-)
Lesson learned: Don't jump across a 6ft ditch full of mud.
